Thursday: sketch #1 of the new piece developed into sketch #2. This seems to be gradually developing in the right way. Ideas for development kept me awake into the night. Friday: a day in the studio recording overdubs in one take. Ken Nicol, who has given his time to this project, was expecting Phil Cool - with whom he's doing a tour - for an afternoon rehearsal for their first concert tonight; then a subsequent tour with Fairport Convention following. I had no option to get things right, in terms of the arrangements, and quickly. One or two were left outstanding but these can be added at the mixing stage.
