Andrew Keeling's Diary
|
2008-10-29 - 7:59 a.m. Monday: six hours spent in MVS Studios courtesy of Ken Nicol. More overdubs for the acoustic album and a very rough mix of everything done; simply a chance to take a cd away to listen and consider all that's been recorded so far. Most of it works quite well, but one or two things need re-thinking and a couple of additions are required. Next visit is mixing/sonics day and the remaining things can probably be added as we go along. As a consequence I slept very badly on Monday night. Tuesday: drove to Troutbeck and walked up Wansfell. This was our eleventh visit to this fell (included in A. Wainright - A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells. Book 2) and the sun shone all the way. It's been a long time since we climbed a fell and, although I didn't find it too gruelling, a migraine started which remained with me all day; even after lunch in Ambleside; even after purchasing an old black and white framed photo of Buttermere in Oxfam for virtually nothing; even after the return trek over Jenkyns Crag with incredible evening views towards Crinkle Crags and the Conistons. It did finally disappear after the painkiller I took in the car before driving home. C. phoned from NZ in the evening. He and H. sound fine and are busy.
