Saturday: a solo flute performance at a relative's 70th birthday party in a church hall for around fifty people. Included was a movement from a C.P.E Bach flute sonata and a dance by Marin Marais plus two well known melodies. Sunday: 10-25: the final double-bar was written onto the marimba and piano piece. Now to sit on it for a week to allow for changes. The title has also changed and become Train.Island.Train. This is now less a three movement sonata but, more, three pieces for marimba and piano. Then a drive towards Bowness and a walk up Brant Fell. A great deal of snow had fallen during the week. The paths were snow/icebound. The temperatures were well down. It hasn't been this cold for a number of years.
