A pleasant and restful Christmas.

Tuesday evening. To the Plough to meet Jon, Gina and David, old freidns from St. Annes Technical College days, the only people from that time with whom I've kept in touch. We talked about some of the bands of the period: H.P. Lovecraft, the Fairports, Fotheringay, Sam Apple Pie, Roxy Music, New York Dolls, King Crimson, Bowie, the first C,S&N album, C,S,N&Y, Neil Young etc. etc. About our visits to festivals of the period: Knebworth to see the Pink Floyd, to Wembley to see Jesse Colin Young, Joni Mitchell, the Band and C,S,N&Y. A question: do I listen to the music of today? Answer: yes.

Elizabeth arrived on Wednesday morning. To the airport.

Thursday: Christmas. To C & G's.

Boxing Day: a meal with my mother.

Listening: everything and all sorts. Assessing the final mixing stage of the acoustic album. Go to an extreme, move back to a more comfortable place. (Brian Eno/Peter Schmidt).
