Good Friday. Memories of this day spent singing in Lichfield Cathedral. A very long time ago.

Monday: adjudicated a house instrumental competition.

Tuesday: lawn cutting/house cleaning/flute practising.

Since Wednesday the busyness has suddenly stopped. For the first time since January, apart from flute practising, I've had a chance to be still. On Thursday my old school (Oakham) magazine arrived. There was a black and white photo taken in 1967 of my house rugby team. This was two years before I actually arrived at the school. I know most of the faces. When I look at this photo I get a strange feeling from it: a sudden glimpse of a time gone by. I also feel a sadness. The photo is taken against the wall of my old school house. We sometimes used to hang around there, or play cricket and football against it. My father once said that we only take notice of time gone when we retire. I haven't retired yet, but I know what he meant. When activity stops for short periods of time, contemplation begins.

Friday: picked up the completed master copy of the acoustic album from Ken's and took it to Jim's for duplication. At the moment I arrived Roseanne had just sent him the artwork. It seems we're almost there. The songs included there also invoke the past.

More good news arrived last evening.
