Andrew Keeling's Diary
|
2009-05-12 - 6:37 p.m. Another busy few days, centred around the emerging piece for French horn and piano. Looking back, several of the more recent pieces tend to have fallen into 'threes' and this new one is no exception. The working title is Letting Go. Whether that remains as the title remains to be seen. On Sunday we went to see Steeleye Span perform at Lancaster's Grand Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. This, the final date of their 2009 UK tour, showed them to be a really tight band. Much impressed with stand-in bass player Pete Zorn, even though Rick Kemp - currently unable to perform in the band because of illness - was in the audience. I had a good chat with him after the event. Also picked up test-pressings of my acoustic cd from Jim who'd brought them to the concert. These have now been dispatched to Roseanne for her take on them. Spoke with David Cross who's doing more work Cross and Keeling album. A newly mixed track arrived at the weekend which sounded excellent. Mark Graham, after completing the work on ITCOTCK, is now on with compiling the newly revised Larks' Tongues in Aspic book. Mark sent some of this at the weekend and it's looking good. A proof copy of the ITCOTCK book is also soon to arrive.
