Andrew Keeling's Diary
|
2009-08-14 - 8:31 a.m. The summer seems to be passing quickly, even though I try to give time to appreciate it. This week has been taken up with: a) writing-up movement three of the horn and piano piece into fair-score; b) completing the Research paper on improvisation for September. A newly revised version of this was sent to David Cross on Wednesday; c) checking the newly revised score of Larks' Tongues in Aspic Pt. 2 for the forthcoming book version of the Musical Guide to Larks' Tongues in Aspic by King Crimson. I often wonder if my academic interests, vigorously pursued in the 1980's and 1990's, were done so as to do this work. In other words, my life has been bound-up in analysing/orchestrating/working/studying King Crimson since I was 13; d) a quick walk up Caudale Moor yesterday (A. Wainwright - Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells. Vol. 2). This was my seventh visit. Sue hasn't been well this week but, as from yesterday, began to make a good recovery.
