Andrew Keeling's Diary
|
2009-09-20 - 8:51 a.m. A busy week preparing for the two Cross and Keeling events. Artwork was also sent to be included on the C&K MySpace page. During the process of collecting it, a mistake was spotted. I'm hoping this can be rectified in time because, I believe, the album is already being duplicated. Flute practising has also been stepped-up. Mark sent the revised text to In the Wake of Poseidon to members of KC Mk I. Further suggestions/revisions have arrived back. A new score of the title song was also discovered, courtesy of Jason, that's now been added. For the Larks' work a further new score is in the process of being transcribed from an intermediate version. Illness has now completely passed with a short Saturday walk round Tewitt locks and the surrounding countryside. A new classical album is being currently considered with pieces being recorded for it. More on this over the next twelve months. Twenty years ago this month, Mediatio (which appeared on an Opus 20 DGM CD in 1999 [ten years ago]), was being in the process of being written. For me, it seems 7 or 10 year cycles continue to be the norm. At present one is waning, giving way to the next. By December, the present one may have completely passed. Listening: David Sylvian - Manafon; Vaughan Williams - A London Symphony; The Beatles - Revolver and Abbey Road; The Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame; Robert Fripp - Exposure; Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come; Miles Davis - Kind of Blue; Tony Williams Lifetime - Emergency.
