A week of fairly intense activity.

Tuesday: a very welcome invitation to the King Crimson Playback event at Air Studios. In the midst of a circle of audio speakers, a small audience heard Steven Wilson's 5.1 re-mixes of: 21st Century Schizoid Man; Epitaph; The Court of the Crimson King; The Battle of Glass Tears (from Lizard); Red and Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part 1. It sounded absolutely marvellous. A Times review of the new KC re-releases asked the question what would all this mean to the current generation? I was very surprised the Times should be concentrating on this kind of questioning. Rather why not actually concentrate on the music, some of the greatest ever released? The music that hit me the most was The Battle of Glass Tears, LTIA Pt 1 and the music from ITCOTCK. I was stunned and told Peter Sinfield, Michael Giles and David Cross the same. This event will remain in my memory for a long time. It was like being in the studio with the band. History will show that King Crimson were one of the greats.

On the journeys there and back the Larks' Tongues Musical Guide was extensively revised.

David Singleton seemed enthusiastic re the Orchscapes.

The new piece continues to transform from rough sketch to sketch #1 phase.

Cross and Keeling's English Sun is now out. David Cross passed copies to me at the Playback.

More flute practising.
